Dear Parents and Guardians,

I'm the owner and lead tutor of SPECIALEDUCATIONTEACHER.CA. I'm also a certified Special Education Specialist, the highest level of special education additional qualifications with the Ontario College of Teachers.

I have over 15 years of special education teaching experience across three Ontario school boards. I have taught the junior grades on a permanent basis, and also taught the primary grades, in addition to serving as a Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT). 

I specialize in the highest level of individualized in-home tutoring intensive support (TIER 3) that is provincially aligned to support building literacy and numeracy skills. I target foundational gaps in literacy and numeracy with evidence-based provincial strategies. 

Currently, I teach grades KG-8, and serve in Special Education Resource, Autism, and Developmentally Delayed teaching roles with the York Region District School Board on a weekly basis as an occasional teacher. I bring contemporary knowledge to every in-home tutoring session. 

My focus remains on teaching special education students with or without Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with regards to academic accommodations and/or modifications, attention and focus (ADHD), and behaviour to help them meet academic and alternative learning expectations.

I help students build the confidence and resilience needed for academic and cognitive growth, and leverage their natural learning strengths to show what they truly know.
